Bea worked with Elsley Primary School during the summer term of 2016 and again during Spring and Summer 2017. The sessions involved bringing a pony to the school each week and working with small groups of children. Through the weekly sessions Bea aimed to build the children’s confidence through the equine learning sessions. Bea met with us before the programme to outline the expectations and then she personalised the workshop contents. Bea also prepared a personalised workbook for each child to use and enhance their learning each week. The materials were of very high quality, Bea was highly organised, and had a calm patient manner. She taught the children of the importance of being calm and gentle near Belle, the pony, and the children very quickly learned this and adapted their behaviour accordingly. The communication and feedback from Bea about each child, and the sessions in general, was very useful for us. Finally, the children thoroughly enjoyed participating in the sessions.
